The Plan

After 15 months of relative isolation during lockdown, my wife Deirdre and I decided that we'd had enough. We decided to take advantage of the absolutely crazypants housing market that emerged in 2021 and sell our home in Parkland, Florida. We also decided to purchase a truck and fifth wheel, and spend the summer driving across the nation with our three dogs in order to visit family and friends.

First, an introduction to us! We are the Haggmarks. Deirdre is a technology executive for a real estate startup an I am an engineering director for a large online skills company. We've been married for nine years (as of September) and have thee fur babies: Ronin, Daphne and Xander. We've both been working remotely in technology for the last ten years, so the idea of working from the road is certainly not a novel one.

ugh, florida people...

We are nerds. This is not hyperbole, but rather a statement of fact. Anyone who knows us knows it. Exhibit A: On the beach in Florida rocking Star Wars and Harry Potter t-shirts. No problem.

Here is the rest of the crew!

Ronin is one of the more demanding Puggles you'll meet

Daphne is a princess and a professional dog of leisure

Xander is controversially the sweetest dog who has
ever been found roaming abandoned in the streets of Louisville

So now that you've met us, let's get on to the plan...

Erm...

Okay, so there isn't really a plan. Neither of us have ever towed anything of consequence and we literally just want to drive around for six months seeing and doing random stuff that is not in our house. Exciting!

We genuinely hope you enjoy our various tales of joy and pain from the road traversing back and forth across America. See you soon!
